what will You be on Palm Sunday?
On Holy Palm Sunday I will be a king,
I will be strewn with garments and palms.
Oh son, my dearest Jesus,
what will You be on Holy Monday?
On Holy Monday I will be a sad wanderer,
who can find no shelter anywhere!
Oh son, my dearest Jesus,
what will You be on Holy Tuesday?
On Holy Tuesday I am a prophet to the world,
proclaim how heaven and earth will pass away.
Oh son, my dearest Jesus,
what will You be on Holy Wednesday?
On St. Wednesday I am poor and lowly,
sold for 30 pieces of silver.
Oh son, my dearest Jesus,
what will You be on Holy Thursday?
On Holy Thursday I will be in the dining room,
the sacrificial lamb at the Last Supper.
Oh son, my dearest Jesus,
what will You be on Holy Good Friday?
Oh dearest Mother Mine,
I will be nailed to the cross.
Three nails that go through hands and feet,
Do not despair Mother, the end is sweet.
Oh son, dearest Jesus mine,
what will You be on Holy Saturday?
On Holy Saturday I am a grain of wheat,
that is born anew in the earth.
Oh son, my dearest Jesus,
what will You be on Holy Easter Day?
On Sunday rejoice, O Mother Mine,
I will have risen from death,
then I will carry the cross with the flag in My hand,
then you will see Me in glory again.
